SPCC (Steel Plate Cold Commercial) is a cold rolled steel plate. It is equivalent to Chinese grades Q195, Q215A and German grade St12. SPCC is produced by subjecting SPHC (hot rolled steel plate) to cold rolling at room temperature.
SPCC finds its counterparts in various international standards: ASTM, BS1449, and DIN 1623. Noteworthy equivalents include A366 (CR4) in ASTM, ST12 in BS1449, and SPCC in DIN 1623.
SPCC Steel: While spcc steel offers good mechanical properties, it lacks the corrosion resistance of stainless steel. Without additional protective coatings or treatments, cold rolled strip steel may be susceptible to rust and corrosion in humid or corrosive environments.
SPCC is a steel grade specified in JIS G 3141 "Cold Rolled Steel Sheet and Strip," and is also called "Commom Steel" because it is an extremely low carbon steel. Its low Carbon content makes it easy to process, and also suitable for drawing with soft finish.
The thickness of cold-rolled plate is generally between 0.1 and 8.0mm, and the thickness of cold-rolled plate produced by most factories is below 4.5mm.
